5 Sweet Recipes You Can Bake in Under 15 Minutes

01 – Self-saucing Chocolate Pudding

This is the ultimate oven-to-mouth dessert. You do not need any special skills to get this 12-minute oozing fudgy center perfectly set for consumption. Ingredients for this quickie dessert includes 150g dark chocolate, 150g egg (3 eggs), 150g butter, 100g icing sugar, and 50g plain flour.

Directions

Preheat your oven to 180°C. With the aid of a baking paper, line 6 x 8 cm dessert rings, with the baking paper sticking out of the ring, then place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Use the butter to melt the chocolate over a water bath, then, in another stainless-steel bowl, mix the icing sugar and flour. Gently add the egg, and whisk to avoid lumps. Add the chocolate and melted butter, then pour the mixture into the rings. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes. Once ready, the middle of your pudding should be darker than its edges.

02 – Bananas Foster

A classic banana foster is a blend of bananas and vanilla ice cream, and with the addition of ingredients such as banana liqueur, cinnamon, brown sugar, and rum, the dessert gains more depth of character. This recipe is no different – and it is significantly easier to prepare than the famous New Orleans dessert. Ingredients for the banana foster include 4 ripe and peeled bananas, 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1 pint of vanilla ice cream, a cup of light brown sugar, ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon, ½ cup dark rum, and ¼ banana liqueur.

Directions

Cut the bananas in half both lengthwise and widthwise. Melt the butter over medium heat in a large skillet, then add the brown sugar and cinnamon and stir until the sugar dissolves some 2 minutes later. Add the cut bananas and allow both sides cook for 3 minutes until the banana softens and turns brown. Add the ¼ banana liqueur and stir to blend with your sauce, then gently add the rum and shake the pan back and forth to allow the rum get warm and flame the pan. Shake the pan back and forth until the flame dies off.

03 – Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Spread

If you are lover the awesome combo of peanut butter and chocolate, this spread is just perfect for you. And the good news is, you can whip up this spread in just five minutes. Ingredients include ¼ cup chocolate chips, ¼ cup honey or maple syrup, 1 cup creamy peanut butter, 1½ tablespoon milk, 5 tablespoon cocoa powder, and 10 tablespoon milk.

Directions

Place the chocolate chips inside a heat-safe bowl, then add milk. Microwave for 15 seconds, then return to microwave at 5-second intervals if the chocolate has not melted enough. Mix both ingredients to achieve a luxurious blend. Then add all ingredients in a medium-size bowl, and fold the mixture together to create a light, whipped mixture.

04 – Salted Caramel Covered Strawberries

The sticky sweet nature of caramel is balanced out by the fruity flavor of the strawberry in this mix. The preparation lasts 15 minutes and ingredients that can serve 2 people include ¼ teaspoon sea salt, 1 cup coarsely chopped mixed nuts, 1½ tablespoon whipping cream, 10 large fresh strawberries, and 20 caramels.

Directions

To restore the perky leaves of the strawberries, soak them in an ice bath for 5 minutes. Pat the strawberries with paper towels until they are completely dry. Microwave the whipping cream, caramels, and salt inside a heat-safe bowl until it is smooth, and stir at 1-minute intervals. Dip half of each strawberry into the caramel mixture, then roll the nuts in and set on a lightly greased wax paper. Allow your serving stand for 15 minutes.

05 – Instant Chocolate Cake

Ingredients for the instant chocolate cake include ¼ teaspoon baking powder, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 teaspoon canola oil, 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour,  2 tablespoons cocoa powder, and 3 tablespoons fat-free milk.

Directions

Combine all of the dry ingredients in a small ball, then add the remaining ingredients and mix properly. You should achieve a smooth batter, free from any limps. Transfer the mix into a mug and microwave on high temperature for 40 to 60 seconds until puffed. Enjoy.
